At Apex, we take quality very seriously. Our goal is to continually meet or exceed client expectation. From order entry to production to order delivery, every member involved in the process is focused on maximizing quality.

Quality translations can mean the difference between success and failure in international marketing.

Consumers see the quality of product literature, such as service instruction or operator manuals, as a reflection of product quality itself. Poorly translated product literature results in poor product image, lost sales, and, in some cases, liability lawsuits.

Skillful and culturally competent use of the language is an essential element of your product literature and should never be underestimated. At Apex Translations, we believe it is crucial.

Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC):

Quality Assurance:
We assure quality by choosing accomplished and accredited translators who are professionals in their respective fields and possess at least 5 years of translation experience and who are best suited for a specific project. For example, medical translations are translated by linguists who are also medical professionals, i.e., medical doctors or nurses.

Our translators are native speakers of the target language. They have been carefully selected and evaluated using our own rigorous battery of tests and interviews.

If required, we employ subject matter experts to help the translators with industry-specific termini.

We maintain glossaries in order to assure consistency in style and terminology for future translation projects. If you would like us to use company-specific or product-specific terminology, we could easily integrate your glossaries into our translation process.

In order to maintain the highest possible degree of consistency between editions of the same document at the lowest possible cost to our clients, Apex has software tools available to create a translation memory file of your document, which can be used to implement any future changes to your translated document in a cost-efficient and expedient fashion.

Quality Control:
Apex’ goal of preventing errors is achieved by ongoing improvements in our production process. However, we do not rely on Quality Assurance alone. At Apex, there are several post-production checks and controls in place.

Each translation goes through final proofreading by a qualified linguist, who is not the translator. The proofreader checks for completion and accuracy of the translation, as well as for spelling, punctuation, syntax errors, or unusual style.

Additionally, our Quality Manager performs random sample checks (RSCs). These RSCs typically comprise 5 percent of a text. If any errors are found in these samples, the translation is relegated back to the proofreader.

Finally, we apply SAE Recommended Practice J2450 (Translation Quality Metric), which is a consistent and industry-wide recognized method for measuring translation quality.

With our commitment to quality, we guarantee that every translation Apex completes will contain and convey the true and intended meaning of the source text.

What About Machine Translation (MT) software?

If you receive a quote for a translation that is too good to be true, chances are you are probably being sold a translation that is generated by software that is often found on the Internet or sold in the form of software packages. Relying on software to accurately translate your document will have embarrassing, inaccurate, and financially devastating results.

Apex Translations does not use Machine Translation software. For documents that require detailed, accurate translations, current Machine Translation software is clearly insufficient.
