Meet the Apex Translations Team

Hans Schlamadinger, CEO and CFO, is a professional engineer with a mechanical engineering degree from the University of Graz, Austria, and a native speaker of German. He spent over 32 years in leading positions in research and development with the automotive industry in both the USA and abroad. In addition, he has worked as a German/English technical translator for many years. Mr. Schlamadinger currently also functions as Apex' Technical Director.

Florian Deltgen, Ph.D., PD, is our Linguistic director. He is fluent in five languages and has a working knowledge in six more, among them several non-European languages. After studying comparative linguistics and anthropology and obtaining a Ph.D. from Cologne University, Germany, he pursued postgraduate studies in pharmacology and transcultural medicine further obtaining the post-doctoral degree of "Habilitation" from the same university. After several years of lecturing and research, he began a business career and has held leading positions in several international corporations for the past 22 years, including leading translation and localization firms. Dr. Deltgen combines a comprehensive linguistic expertise with in-depth knowledge and long-term experience in many different areas of business management, markets, and technologies.

Amanda Summerlin is Apex' Office manager. In addition to managing the day-to-day office management tasks, she also functions as a project manager which includes preparing proposals and interacting with our translators, as well as our clients.
Ms. Summerlin holds an Associate's degree in Accounting and Business Administration.

 

René Deltgen is our resident IT expert as well as a project manager specializing in website translations, or projects that require IT advanced skills. Besides his project management duties, his responsibilities are making sure that our network functions properly, all anti-virus software is up-to-date, and all files are adequately and securely backed up daily. Additionally, Rene is fully bilingual in German and English and contributes to the German/English proofreading effort. 

Ricardo Gómez, Apex’s Spanish proofreader, is a Colombian journalist. Mr. Gomez also specializes in English to Spanish translations, having intimate knowledge of the diverse variations of the Spanish language throughout Latin America and Europe. During the mid-1990s at Editora Cinco, a Bogota’-based publisher, Mr. Gomez chaired a group of Spanish linguists responsible for authoring an internal comparative dictionary for use in both Mexico and Colombia. At Editora Cinco, Mr. Gomez was later named Head Copy Editor and Editor-in-Chief of the American magazine Popular Science, in Spanish. Additionally, Mr. Gomez was Editor-in-Chief of the magazine, Muy Interesante, a popular Spanish magazine. As Editor-in-Chief, Mr. Gomez’ duties included translating Iberian Spanish into a neutral Spanish understood and read by a Central and South American audience or readership.

Teresa Kerber proofreads all documents that have been translated into English. Ms. Kerber earned a Master's of Arts in Business Education from East Carolina University with additional graduate hours in the field of instructional technology. She recently retired from education after having taught at the middle school, high school, and collegiate levels. During her educational career, she served as an Assistant Dean of Curriculum on the collegiate level as well as an Associate Professor of Business Information Technology. In addition to her career in education, she has functioned as a software trainer and provided intensive group-training sessions on operating systems, spreadsheet, database, word processing, and presentation software packages throughout Northeast North Carolina.

Benoît Reynders is our in-house French linguist. A native French speaker from Brussels, Belgium, he studied Journalism at the Université Libre de Bruxelles. He earned a BA degree in Political Science at the University of Massachusetts and acquired an MA degree in Political Science from Northeastern University.
Mr. Reynders has held positions as a Research Assistant, Reference Librarian, Industry Researcher, Industry Specialist, and Financial Writer. He has also taught French in private and public schools for five years.
